Oftentimes our inability to relate with others can be improved by learning what is our own relationship style and identifying our relationship patterns. This episode explores the things that we can do to improve how we interact with others.

MEET MICHELLE M. CASTELLI

Michelle has always had a knack for helping people with relationships, even dating back to study hall in junior high and extending into college. Michelle eventually became a licensed social worker and worked as a therapist later adding a spiritual component with a theology degree and a spiritual direction certification. She now focuses heavily on relationship coaching with her therapy work.

LISTENING TO THE NEEDS OF MANY

In her practice, Michelle finds that many people are searching for the right mate… they are tired of the dating game, or that those who thought they wanted to be in a relationship, may actually run into commitment issues because they have more internal work to do. Furthermore, Michelle shares that she finds herself working with many committed couples struggling in their marriage. They often want to have better communication with each other or are looking for conflict resolution because they are getting stuck in those areas.

Michelle shares that people often have difficulty in relationships due to their own unhealthy relationship patterns that they take into their relationships.

For improvement, Michelle shares that unhealthy relationship patterns have to be teased out and it’s designed at an individual level. From there you can look for the patterns in your relationships -whether it’s friend relationships, family relationships, romantic, etc. Were you impatient? Did you jump in too quickly? Did you leave abruptly without finding closure?

WE ALL HAVE A RELATIONSHIP STYLE

Michelle is clear in saying that even people who perceive that things are going well in their relationships, could benefit from a relationship coach.

A big misconception that a lot of people have is that ‘it’s only in this one relationship that I’m experiencing stress and I’m fine in the others and then come to find out that it’s impacting every single one of your relationships.
